Jazz Nights @ Fredrick's

Jazz comes to Fredrick's through the experienced team of Paul and Jayne Jefferies, bringing top quality live jazz performers to Maidenhead.

Concerts feature trios, quartets and quintets and the style is varied so that over the year everyone’s favourite style is given a chance to shine - so you could hear Modern Jazz in the style of Herbie Hancock one month and nods to Stephane Grappelli the next with some Be-Bop, swing, Chanson or Blues in between.

Full bar service is available from 6.30pm to 11pm.

Chris Cobbson’s History of Jazz Guitar

Thursday 13th Feb 25

£22.00 (music only)

From Dixie-Land to Swing, the history of Jazz Guitar is presented by multi-instrumentalist and guitar supremo Chris Cobbson. He presents his informative and highly entertaining show that tracks the history of how the guitar developed as a primary instrument in jazz. From the early years when guitarist like Charlie Christian and Django Reinhardt vamped their way into the history books; through swing players such as Grant Green and Barney Kessell to the more ‘modern’ players from Bebop and Fusion - Chris will play and narrate you through pieces that exemplify all these styles. Clarinettist & saxophonist Andy Hooley, bassist Paul Jefferies and drummer Charlie Stratford complete this fabulous quartet.

’STEVIE’ The music of Stevie Wonder

Thursday 20th March 25

£22.00 (music only)

Bassist Paul Jefferies and huge creative guitarist Phil Dawson (https://phildawsonmusic.co.uk/) have been in love with the soulful and highly creative music of Stevie Wonder since they discovered his 1972 album Music of My Mind featuring the classic tracks ‘Superwoman' and 'Keep on Running’. There is a wealth of music to choose to perform and get creative with. Paul and Phil have teamed up with the superbly creative saxophonist John Martin (https://johnnoblemartin.com/) and ace drummer Mark Whitlam (http://www.markwhitlam.com/) to pay homage to a bunch of their favourite Stevie tracks, especially those which lend themselves to jazz interpretation and improvisation.

Stuart Henderson - Jazz Trumpet Greats!

Thursday 17th April 25
