Jeremy du Plessis Q&A

In February Fredrick’s Hotel Restaurant & Spa welcomed our new General Manager, Jeremy du Plessis. Jeremy, a longtime hotel industry professional, came to us by way of Yorkshire where he served as General Manager at The Talbot, in Malton. While there he had the chance to not only help re-establish The Talbot as one of the county’s finest hotels but also to work with Celebrity TV Chef James Martin in the hotel’s James Martin Restaurant. Before this he worked as GM at The Feather’s Woodstock where he took the hotel from strength to strength. Both experiences appear to be the perfect platform to enhance and improve Fredrick's. Jeremy lives outside Oxford with his wife Jill and wonderful son.  

We caught up for a few minutes with Jeremy recently to learn more about him and his vision for Fredrick’s.

Q. Had you heard of Fredrick’s before coming to Maidenhead?

A. Of course! Fredrick’s reputation for luxury accommodation and great food has been well established among discerning travellers and diners for many many years. One of the first things that I was touched by when I arrived was the enormous goodwill from past guests who love waxing nostalgic about the experiences at Fredrick's.

Q. What do you see as Fredrick’s greatest strengths?

A. I have been lucky to have worked in hotels with beautiful grounds, first class bedrooms, and wonderful restaurants. In every case the greatest strength can be summed up in two words: The people. The staff at Fredrick’s are dedicated, loyal, hard working, and share keen focus on ensuring that every guest whether they come for afternoon tea, to a wedding, meeting or a spa treatment are well looked after. 

Q. Where do you see Fredrick’s in five years time? 

A. Quite simply I see Fredrick’s as the best place to stay, meet, dine, and relax in Berkshire!
