Although Eton College’s main purpose in constructing a rowing lake has been to ensure the future of rowing at the School, however the governing body of the College intends that the lake and its facilities shall provide a much needed facility for the region and the county and be readily available for rowing, canoeing dragon boat and triathlon training for all levels of athlete from beginner to high performance, with the emphasis on junior rowing.
The Dorney Lake, Park and Arboretum freehold is owned by Eton College and the Lake operation is managed by an independent charity (a not-for-profit organisation) called Dorney Lake Trust. An Operating Policy Group representing users of the facility, including Eton College, meet to advise the Trust and the College. |
